The Hmong Community Health Fair Matters Because:

  • Limited Healthcare Access: Many Hmong families face language barriers and challenges in navigating the healthcare system.
  • Health Disparities: The Hmong community has higher rates of chronic diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure, but limited awareness about preventive care.
  • Mental Health Stigma: Mental health remains a taboo topic, leading to untreated conditions such as anxiety and depression.
  • Cultural Relevance: By integrating modern healthcare with traditional Hmong healing practices, we build trust and create meaningful conversations around health.

Orignal artworks by aspiring Hmong artists will be the centerpiece of the health fair, displayed in a dedicated "Hmong Art & Health" exhibit space.

The artworks will reflect the intersection of Hmong culture and health. This initiative highlights the creativity of the Hmong community while fostering discussions about health topics such as mental wellness, traditional healing practices, chronic disease prevention, and intergenerational care.

Throughout the day, there will be interactive activities including panels where artisits will share their creative processes and health message in their art. There will also be community voting where visitors will vote for their favorite piece to encourage participation and excitement.
