Advancing Diverse Communities in North Carolina

The North Carolina Hmong Women Association (NCHWA) is the first nonprofit organization in North Carolina dedicated to advancing Hmong women, girls, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Founded in 2021, NCHWA works to expand access to education, develop community leadership, and promote community advocacy while advancing health equity for immigrant and refugee families across rural North Carolina.
Our work supports Asian American communities, including Hmong and Southeast Asian Americans, many of whom have lived in North Carolina for decades yet still face challenges accessing culturally responsive care and trusted, high-quality healthcare services. Through trusted community engagement, culturally responsive health education, and partnerships with healthcare systems and public health agencies, we work to strengthen healthcare access and support rural health so that underserved communities are seen, supported, and able to thrive.

To strengthen the voices of Hmong women and girls through education, advocacy, research, and leadership development in North Carolina.

Empowered Hmong women and girls leading happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives.
